Passion. Dedication. Perfectionism. Love. These are the qualities that set Rob Muzick apart from other Nashville musicians. He cares, he strives to be the best, he puts in the time needed, and he loves what he does.

Born in Oberlin and raised in Elyria, Ohio, Rob Muzick is the product of his very musical raise. Since the day he was born, Rob was surrounded by the rhythm and beat of his family’s band. Rob’s grandfather, Dallas Bryan, was a preacher and well-known guitar player at the time, and was Rob’s biggest inspiration in picking up the guitar at the age of 6. At 7 Rob joined his family’s southern gospel band and began touring the country. Throughout the next decade of his life, Rob expanded his musical knowledge by learning to play the bass guitar, drums, keys, trombone, and pedal steel. It wasn’t until the age of 16 when Rob began singing, and since then he’s never looked back. “When I was 11 I was hired to play bass on a record while on the road with my family’s gospel band…it was then that I realized this is what I wanted to do with my life, meaning play music for a living.”

Rob is an all-inclusive musician, meaning he plays, he sings, and he writes. He remembers hearing The Beatles for the first time and being in awe that “these seemingly normal people had ‘made up’ these amazing songs.” Naturally, he wanted to take a stab at songwriting too – and boy did it work! After moving to Nashville at the age of 24, not only did Rob use music and songwriting as a means to make ends meet, but also as an outlet for emotions. Some of his best songwriting has occurred during heartbreak, which makes that heartbreak worthwhile.

With his greatest influences being The Beatles, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Eric Clapton, it’s no wonder Rob has a unique, meaningful sound. “If Hank Snow, The Beatles, and Tom Petty had a baby,” says Jay Tooke, the result would be Rob Muzick.

Throughout the past ten years Rob has had the opportunity to play with a variety of acts including Jeremy McComb, Emerson Drive, Matt Stillwell, Ira Dean (Trick Pony), Rachel Farley, and Gavin DeGraw. He’s also opened for National acts such as Brad Paisley, Marshall Tucker, Corey Smith, Montgomery Gentry, Florida Georgia Line, Colt Ford, and Craig Campbell.

“I feel that musicians are unlike anyone else…we are a tighter knit community than most…I love having passionate friends and being a part of that community.”

Today, Rob can be found playing with artists Holland Marie and Blue Honey (Troy Brooks and Kassie Jordan) in addition to filling-in for many well-known artist road gigs. Rob just released his freshman album, “For the Heartache,” featuring his own lyrics, sound, and voice. Be sure to look out for Rob Muzick in Nashville and coming to a city near you because honestly, with a name like Muzick, how could he not be awesome?
